Since 2005, Industrial Design has been offered as a Bachelor's and Master's degree course with an engineering degree. The Bachelor's degree program comprises six semesters and has a total of 180 credits (ECTS), while the Master's degree program comprises a further four semesters.
The studies are mainly dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of the subject and consist mainly of compulsory courses and a smaller proportion of compulsory elective courses. 10 percent of the courses are free electives and can be chosen from the courses offered by all recognized domestic and foreign universities and colleges. The elective options serve the individual profiling of the students.
The courses in Industrial Design are combined semester by semester into project modules with increasing complexity and a correspondingly increasing assessment. The course is supplemented by compulsory internships.
The bachelor's degree program in Industrial Design is divided into the following subjects:
1. Industrial Design
2. Art and Cultural Studies
3. Representation techniques and methods
4. Fundamentals of design
5. Engineering and Technology
6. Ergonomics
7. Free electives
8. External internship during studies
