Entrance Examination

The entrance examination consists of the following qualifications (partial exams):

• Submission of work samples
• Written exam (please bring your own materials!)
• Interview: During the interview, specifically for teacher training programs, the relevant performance-related, personal, subject-specific, and pedagogical aptitudes required for teacher training at schools are assessed in accordance with the competencies necessary for the profession of educators.

Validity of the Entrance Examination

The proof of artistic aptitude obtained by passing the admission exam is valid for a maximum of 20 months. The program must be started within the respective enrollment period, which may also shorten this period. In the event of withdrawal, the same program may be resumed within a period of 20 months. After this period has expired, a new entrance examination must be taken upon resuming the program.

Certification of Foreign Documents

The following must be submitted at the start of the admission exam or admission interview:

• A copy of your high school diploma or equivalent certification for teacher education, architecture, industrial design, or cultural studies (all printed or written-on pages)
• A copy of your bachelor’s degree certificate or equivalent certificate for master’s programs (all printed or written-on pages)
• For the Master’s program in Architecture, please note the notification requirements regarding professional qualifications in EU member states.

Foreign or foreign-language certificates must be certified and translated.

Foreign academic credentials can be evaluated through anabin —the information portal for foreign educational qualifications 

Visa Requirements

Please note the visa requirements for entry into Austria if you are taking the admission exam in person in Linz.

Teacher Education Program

Registration for Teacher Education Programs
In addition to the artistic entrance exam, you must have completed Module A ( Online Self-Assessment). You will then register for Module B ( electronic entrance exam). This exam takes place on scheduled dates.
