European Sound Art Award 2014 für Lucas Norer

Lucas Norer gewinnt den European Sound Art Award 2014  mit seiner neuen raumbezogenen Soundinstallation mit dem Titel “Ein Trugbild und eine Abstraktion” (A Figment and an Abstraction).

The sound installation “Ein Trugbild und eine Abstraktion” (A Figment and an Abstraction) tells about a particular aspect in the history of Marl.
Lucas Norer translates the fascinating topic of the Philharmonia Hungarica (a Hungarian exile orchestra that found a new home in Marl in the 1950ies) into a coherent and thouroghly researched installation with performative elements. Within the installation lies a discrepancy between quasi-orchestral performance and subtle installation. This allows associations about art and history, hopes and disappointments, remembering and forgetting which are woven together convincingly. (Jury statement: European Soundart Award 2014)
