The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations presents the exhibition "New Conjunctions and Intersections" at the United Nations Headquarters in New York"New Conjunctions and Intersections" is an exhibition of video works by internationally renowned artists from the Americas, Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East to coincide with the 70th Anniversary of the United Nations.Through the mediums of video art and video documentary these artists present a unique perspective and commentary on the changing nature of human societies and its environs facilitated by the instantaneity of a multimedia Internet as well as migration of populations affected by economic necessity and war.The underlying intent of this exhibition is to encourage a critical awareness of the complexity and consequences of how Humanity intersects with its environment and the opportunity it may have to repair this negative impact in order to achieve a sustainable future.While "New Conjunctions and Intersections" may reference the dilemma of our current reality, the tone of the exhibition offers hope that we may attain pragmatic solutions to a renewable environment that will ensure a sustainable biosphere and our own survival.
