Die Bildnerische Erziehung lädt zum Gastvortrag von Tatiana Dias Silva zum Thema "Global Player Brazil - Educational and Social Politics on the Rise?".

Tatiana Dias Silva arbeitet als Forscherin für das Instituto de Pesquisa Applicada (IPEA, www.ipea.gov.br). Sie ist spezialisiert auf Sozialpolitik unter dem besonderen Aspekt der ethnischen und sozialen Diskriminierung und Gleichstellung.

Brasilien ist auf dem Weg ein Global Player zu werden, es ist jedoch auch ein Schwellenland, welches sich vielen Herausforderungen stellen muss. Es investiert sehr viel in staatlich unterstützte Bildung, Bildungsoffensiven gibt es seit der Regierung von Luiz Inacio da Silva, auch Lula genannt, quasi im Jahrestakt. Auch seine Nachfolgerin, Dilma Roussef, verfolgt diese Politik. Jedoch haben Jahrzehnte der Vernachlässigung des Bildungssystems ihre Spuren hinterlassen. Diese zu beseitigen ist nach wie vor eine große Herausforderung.

Der Vortrag wird das brasilianische Bildungssystem, die Herausforderungen und Maßnahmen analysieren und dabei auch besonders auf die ethnischen und sozialen Ungleichheiten und ihre Reflexion im Bildungssystem eingehen.

Tatiana Dias Silva works as a researcher for the Instituto de Pesquisa Applicada (IPEA, www.ipea.gov.br). She is specialized in social politics under the aspects of ethnical and social discrimination and equality.

Brazil is on its way to become a global player, but it's also a country on the edge, which has to face a lot of challenges. It invests vast sums in state education, state run educational programmes are launched on an annual basis, ever since the presidency of Luiz Inacio da Silva, also called Lula. His successor, Dilma Roussef, is following the same educational policy. But decades of neglection of the education system have left their traces deep in Brazil's society and education. Ereasing them is still a very big challenge.

This lecture will analyze the Brazilian educational system, its challenges and actions to overcome the decicits. There will be a focus on the ethnical and social disparities and how they are reflected in the educational figures.
