Eileen will present an overview of her work and reflect on themes and threads that have recurred in some of the research projects and development programmes in which she has been involved. These include: built environment education, design education, sense of place, intelligence of feeling, critical study and young people’s participation in environmental change. A key strategy has been action research.
Eileen Adams
is a freelance consultant with broad experience as teacher, researcher, consultant, examiner, lecturer and writer, sharing her knowledge and skills through publications, conferences and courses in the UK and internationally. Her teaching experience spans all levels, including secondary schools, higher education and professional development. She has served as external examiner in four higher education institutions and as Deputy Chief Examiner in Art/Design for the International Baccalaureate. Research, development and publications have included themes such as inter-professional collaboration in education, young people’s participation in environmental change, the school as a learning environment, public art and drawing as a medium for learning. She has wide experience of writing in both academic and popular publishing. She contributes articles to magazines, writes papers for professional journals, and authors publications. Most recently, these include the Power Drawing series of books, packs, DVDs and web material to support The Campaign for Drawing’s education and professional development programme.
