A little studied aspect of the onomastic memory of the Jewish immigration in Cuba is the one associated to the funerary patrimony. The funerary linguistic landscape in the island is constituted by the texts on tombstones, porticos, and other architectural structures. Luis Ramón Campo Yumar is a researcher in onomastics and is pursuing a PhD in linguistics on Cuban anthroponymy using first names as an example. He studied Literary Studies (BA) and Theoretical and Methodological Studies of Contemporary Spanish (MA) at the Universidad Central "Marta Abreu" de las Villas (UCLV). Since 2016, he has been a professor in the Department of Linguistics and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities (UCLV). In 2021/2022 he was a DAAD scholar at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg.
