From music score, to drawing, to sound sculptures: reflections on the line and its transformations.
„I am often surprised by the moments, scenes and activities of the day-to-day. It is in this unremarkable, less-noticeable gestures and actions, filled with delicate images and sounds, where I find the subject for my pieces.“
Roberta Lazo Valenzuela is a Chilean composer, currently living and working in Oslo. Her work is mainly concerned with exploring the meeting points between music and visual arts, including in her compositions video, drawing, and dance, among others. This interest for both worlds – music and visual arts – led her to a research in visual music and to gradually generate a body of visual works autonomous from sound. Her work has been performed in Austria, Germany, Norway, Romania, Latvia, Croatia, Chile, Switzerland, Spain and Ireland.
