PRIZE 2008

Für ihre patentierte Erfindung "Solar Display" gewann das Team Dr. Laurent Mignonneau (Interface Cultures), Arch.Dipl.-Ing. Michael Shamiyeh (Zentrum DOM) und Dr. Christa Sommerer (Interface Cultures) den PRIZE 2008 im Rahmen des uni-invent II Programms des Bundesministeriums für Wissenschaft und Forschung.

Solar Diplay ist eine patentierte Erfindung die eine vollkommen neue technologische Lösung für großformatige Kommunikationsdisplays (sowie für die Verschattung von großflächigen Glasfassaden) bietet. Die Idee, den jeweiligen Pixel (= Bildpunkt) des Kommunikationsdisplays als Solarzelle bzw. Energiegewinner zu konzipieren, ermöglicht den Betrieb des Displays ohne Nutzung jeglicher externer Ressourcen.

Solar Display is a patented invention that allows a new technological invention for large scale communication displays. Each pixel of the display is a solar cell that harvests its own energy and can use that to create a self-sustainable display.
