Das Tangible Music Lab lädt zum Konzert
Meng Qi is a pioneering synthesizer designer and musician. His thoughts center on the duality of instruments: control/chaos, harmony/noise, quantization/continuity, and so on, and he embodies these concepts in highly gestural interfaces. Meng Qi has designed the Wing and Wingie. Currently, he is collaborating with Australian synthesizer designer Gill Trent to design his third standalone instrument named “Horizon”, which is expected to launch in early 2025. Meng Qi and Li Anqi run a media called “Synthesizer Minority,” willing to share knowledge and exciting synthesizer facts with a broader audience. Besides, he has also been engaged in teaching and giving lectures at various events both at home and abroad.
HOŁUBOWSKA w/ MUCIÑO: LOVERS / LICHENS explores symbiosis as a primary evolutionary mechanism, be it collaboration, love, or mutual aid. The somatic score developed by Hołubowska is organised like an oracle card, allowing different configurations and braiding. During live performances, Muciño (basoon), Holubowska (voice and electronics), and the AI RAVE models create a symbiotic system, interpreting the instructions and convolving the sounds like a lichen. Bassoon, voice, and archival singing create a porous lace on the verge of intimacy between species.
