Master programme is a four-semester Master programme at the intersection of visual arts and public culture, architecture and the performing arts.
The Master program is grounded in experimental methodologies that emphasize sustainable and collaborative approaches, enabling students to engage directly with real-world situations and address the complexities of public space.
Teaching is rooted in action and collaboration. The program is structured around projects and partnerships, learning takes place both inside and outside the school, combining theoretical and practical research with emerging tools and artisanal practices.
Since 2023, the programme includes the Venice Studio, a design studio conceived as a critical tool to engage with Venice and its lagoon as a fragile and contradictory paradigm shaped by climate change, global tourism, and cultural economies. Learning unfolds through situated artistic research, intertwining art and space, experimenting with forms of cohabitation, and constructing alternative imaginaries.
Students are expected to:
. Participate actively in studios, fieldwork, and shared spaces (ateliers, labs, workshops)
. Work in groups and develop collective actions
. Define research questions, methods and partnerships
. Conduct fieldwork as transformative exchange; prototype and test in public situations
. Build a theoretical frame; align practice and writing
. Engage audiences through lectures/crits/exhibitions
. Contribute to collaborations (e.g., European networks) and reflect on ethics and impact
