PhD Research Collective

The PhD Research Collective at the University of Arts Linz is a bottom-up, structured doctoral program that is based on international standards of doctoral education. It combines artistic and scientific research projects and has been in existence since the summer semester of 2024. The eight members of the Research Collective are PhD candidates from the University of Arts Linz who are integrated into the departments or centers of the University as part of this program. They move within the research and thematic spectrum of the respective department or center. This strengthens their artistic research and scientific research focus and integrates them institutionally.

A central characteristic is the collaborative development and design of the framework program in a bottom-up process by the participating PhD supervisors and PhD candidates. The framework program is intended to serve the acquisition of key qualifications and further career development.
