The space&designstrategies bachelor programme embraces cross-cutting societal themes. Positioned at the interfaces of art, architecture, design and digital media, conceptual questions are translated into trendy pragmatism. However, it is not solutions that are at the forefront of teaching and learning, but rather the ability to define, ponder, consider, doubt, deliberate, contemplate, review and redefine questions. Precisely targeted tasks as well as improvisation and performative action enable students to translate questions into structures and processes. By “giving shape” to things, contents and questions are to become debatable at a different level. For this reason, any artistic interventions and installations in space should be understood as a language through which students learn to express themselves. The goal of the programme is clear: research-inspired design for a better world. Towards this purpose, every student is to acquire high flexibility and improvisational skills in our vehemently changing society. A central aim of the programme is to establish interfaces with both young and internationally renowned artists by organising lecture series, excursions, workshops and projects.
