SCALES - Breathing in the Air

"Back to nature for once? Yes, but to a very different one." Sensorium: Embodied Experience, Technology, and Contemporary Art. Caroline A. Jones (ed.). Violetta Wakolbinger explores this quote in her photomontages. New buildings made of steel and concrete can be found everywhere in Linz. This architecture will remain even if, in our uncertain future, it proves impossible for us to continue living life the way we are used to. Perhaps it will be the water that will allow us to coexist peacefully with other living beings? Violetta Wakolbinger uses photography to explore the dualism of new, unfinished architecture and nature. Her montages open up sensuous, atmospheric spaces for the imagination
