Master Programme Media Design and Digital Literacy (Teacher Training)

Master Programme Media Design and Digital Literacy (Teacher Training) is combined with another subject or a specialization in the teacher training course for secondary education; it can also be studied as an extension to an already completed teacher training course. The Master's degree program comprises four semesters, i.e. lasts two years (120 ECTS). It builds on the corresponding Bachelor's degree.

Who owns the internet? How smart is AI and how many Bitcoins does a coffee cost? What does gamification or infocracy mean? How do we move around in virtual space and how do you use a 3D printer? Are grades really more important than likes? The combined teacher training course in media design and digital basic education is unique in this form. The challenges of our world interwoven with digital technologies are examined and individual artistic and pedagogical strategies are developed in order to critically question them.

Creative and technical skills with regard to current and future media as well as a comprehensive digital education are acquired during the course. The course qualifies students for a career as a teacher of basic digital education and media-related subjects. In addition, graduates are offered a wide range of prospects - from extracurricular media education, freelance artistic activities and work in the creative industries to PhD studies and research.
