Can you move the hand of your friend only by imagining this?
What is BCI, and how can it be used in Art? In this Talk I show a variety of Brain Wave Art Works but also some clinical BCI-applications. 

This lecture offers insights into different Brain Computer Interface (BCI) application and shows limits and possibilities of using Neuro-technologies. A wide range of different technologies for interpreting brain activity will be demonstrated in a comprehensible way using various examples. A demo illustrates the self-experience with BCI.

Erika Mondria
Erika Mondria develops physically transformative processes of brain-machine interaction based on neuroscience and cultural studies. As a researcher her focus is on artistic staging, mental and physical experiences in dealing with new technologies and on visualizing reciprocal effects of digital influences, physical processes and biometric data. She is a certified Mental-Trainer and has studied Fine Art at London Institute, Camberwell (UK) and Marseille at Aix-Marseille Université (FR), Fine Art & Cultural Studies at the Kunstuniversität and the JKU, Linz (AT). Various biometric measurement technologies such as Eye-Tracking, retina photography and Brain-Computer Interfaces are used within her works.
