The Master's degree program in Sculptural Conceptions / Ceramics can be completed in either German or English. No knowledge of German is required for admission to the German-language program, but proof of German language proficiency at level B1must be provided within the first year of study. For enrolment in the English-language branch of study, proof of English language proficiency at level B2 is required before the start of studies.
1. admission for graduates of the Bachelor's degree course in Plastic Design / Ceramics:
A completed Bachelor's degree course in Sculptural Conceptions / Ceramics entitles the holder to begin the Master's degree course within 20 months of passing the Bachelor's examination.
2. The admission procedure for all other applicants
2.a. Registration for the admission examination:
All other interested parties who have completed a related course of study at a recognized post-secondary educational institution (academy, art university, college) over a period of at least 6 semesters (Bachelor or diploma) register for the admission examination.
The admission examination committee assesses whether the completed Bachelor's degree meets the subject requirements
2.b. Submission of a portfolio:
A digital portfolio showing a clear interest in the field of sculpture must be uploaded when registering for the entrance examination and should contain a sufficient number of works. The applicant's artistic development to date, focus of work and artistic inclination must be clearly highlighted.
The examination committee will decide on the basis of the portfolio sent whether applicants will be invited to an interview.
2.c. Examination interview:
After a positive assessment of the portfolio, applicants are invited to the interview, which consists of the following parts:
- Presentation or explanation of the portfolio.
- Interview with the examination board on the applicant's motivation and goals.
The interview for the Master 's degree program Sculptural Conceptions / Ceramicsgenerally takes place in person, but can be conducted online if required. Applicants who require a visa therefore do not need to travel to Linz as part of the application process.

Please note: Admission to the degree program must be applied for after passing the entrance examination. The certificates are checked as part of the admission process. Admission can only be granted after all requirements have been checked.
