In their lecture, Katharina Mischer / Thomas Traxler will provide insights into the research and experimental practice of the design studio mischer'traxler studio. Their projects open up a dialog about the interdependence of man and nature, show a deeper understanding of resources and make complex data tangible and experienceable. Using methods of observation, practical experimentation and participatory processes, the presentation shows how design makes connections visible and enables a change of perspective towards an ecocentric view of the world.
mischer'traxler studio is a recognized design studio based in Vienna. Since 2009, Katharina Mischer and Thomas Traxler and their dedicated team have been working on unique projects that explore the complex relationship between humans and nature. Their work includes object design, interactive art and installations, always combining technology and traditional craftsmanship in a unique way.
The work of mischer'traxler studio is internationally renowned and has won numerous awards. They challenge conventional perceptions, stimulate reflection and actively involve the public. Their works are exhibited worldwide in leading museums, at festivals and trade fairs and are represented in the permanent collections of renowned institutions such as the Art Institute of Chicago, the Vitra Design Museum, the MUDAC Lausanne, the KGM Hamburg and the MAK Vienna.
