Gastvortrag von Petra Stegmann
The paper will present some crucial aspects of Fluxus, its historical genealogy introduce some protagonists (like George Maciunas, George Brecht, Alison Knowles, Dick Higgins, Ben Patterson, Ben Vautier, Eric Andersen, Tomas Schmit, Mieko Shiomi) and will then focus on Fluxus compositions and performances.
Questions to be discussed are:
What are the special qualities of the Fluxus score?
In how far does Fluxus differ from other genres of action art?
Is Fluxus really about participation?
What about Fluxus today?
Can or should Fluxus be re‑enacted?
Petra Stegmann is an independent art historian and curator, living in Potsdam. Her special field of interest is Fluxus and action art; she is currently together with colleagues from different European countries, preparing an exhibition/publication project on the European Fluxus concerts of the 1960s and 70s.
