Intersectional perspectives and artistic practice in the context of feminist protest culture

This course offers students the opportunity to take an in-depth look at the history, developments, symbols, strategies and artistic movements in the context of International Women's Day. Through a holistic approach that includes both theoretical and practical aspects, the aim is to impart in-depth knowledge of feminist protests and the associated culture of resistance.

A central aim is to offer students the opportunity to develop their own artistic works within the framework of this topic. These works have the chance to be presented to the public on March 8, 2024. There are various potential presentation venues to choose from, such as the exhibition space "splace", the Stadtwerkstatt or the public space as part of the Women's Day 2024 demonstration in Linz.

In addition to the theoretical debate and artistic production, experts from various fields will be invited to promote in-depth discussions and enable a broad spectrum of perspectives. These include trans, queer and non-binary people, people with a migration biography as well as actors and artists who are already part of the Lektorinnen-Team network. A core objective here is to promote sustainability through participatory approaches. This includes the transfer of knowledge, the development of skills and the establishment of contacts, synergies and networks. These approaches are intended to encourage students to adopt new perspectives and create innovative artistic works.
