Lydia Waldhör invites viewers into the interpretational freedom of her abstract pictorial spaces: “These collages are not about anything in particular. They are pictorial worlds that one can immerse oneself in to possibly discover something familiar. Old cardboard children’s books shape the working surface onto which various media are applied. The partly abstract, partly representational pictorial content that emerges in this process can be viewed in a way that is confined to the composition.”
Lydia Waldhör works with various media. She produces collages and drawings and applies textile techniques. Feminist theories and the observation of the world are important reference points for her work.
The work "Collage" was shown as part of the exhibition BestOFF 2024.
