In a No-Budget-Test-Exhibition the Linz based art collective qujOchÖ shows a journey through the history of sexual contents and representations within computer games.
It also serves as a starting point for a more intensive examination of media- and gender-theoretical questions: What was shocking 30 years ago? How did sexist representations develop? Are there imaginary parallels to today's games? 

There will be shown originals, test reviews, playing manuals and much more.Furthermore there will be the possibility to gamble on different consoles and computers (Atari 2600, Commodore 64, PlayStation 2, IBM-PC and iMac), e. g. during an Off-Lan-Battle.A reading group will be devoted to theoretical reflexions on the issue.And at the opening of the exhibition on October 31 there will be a concert of the Zogholy Bros., pending between Gameboy-sounds and Synthwave. 

The lecture will consist of a short introduction from three of the curators - Luzi Katamay, Sun Li Lian Obwegeser and Thomas Philipp.

Afterwards: an exclusive visit of the exhibition.

Biographies:

Luzi Katamay (* 1982 in Krenglbach)
ist Filmemacherin und Medienkünstlerin. Seit ihrem Abschluss an der Kunstuniversität in ist Mitglied des Kunstkollektivs qujOchÖ und arbeitet nebenberuflich als Filmvorführerin und am Theater.

Sun Li Lian Obwegeser (* 1981 in Rum in Tirol)
lebt und arbeitet in Linz, studiert Experimentelle Gestaltung an der Kunstuniversität Linz und macht Projekte im Bereich Installation, Sound und Video. Seit 2009 Mitglied beim Kunstkollektiv qujOchÖ.

Thomas Philipp (* 1975 in Linz)
ist ein in Linz lebender österreichischer Sozialwissenschafter und Künstler.
Er ist Mitbegründer und Leiter des Forschungsinstituts LIquA - Linzer Institut für qualitative Analysen, Lehrbeauftragter am Institut für Gesellschafts- und Sozialpolitik, für den Studiengang Kulturwissen-schaften und für den Studiengang Politische Bildung an der Johannes Kepler Universität Linz und am Institut für Medien an der Kunstuniversität Linz und Verfasser zahlreicher wissenschaftlicher Publikationen im sozial- und kulturwissen-schaftlichen Zusammenhang.

Im kulturellen Feld ist er u. a. als Gründungsmitglied der Linzer Künstlergruppe qujOchÖ aktiv.
qujOchÖ agiert an den Schnittstellen von Kunst, Politik, Gesellschaft und Wissenschaft.
qujOchÖ ist mannigfaltig, heterogen, untaggable und gänzlich undiszipliniert.
qujOchÖ verwendet Alles und Nichts, zeigt, installiert, interveniert, lärmt, baut, diskutiert und verbindet.
qujOchÖ macht alles aus Liebe und Überzeugung.
