  • You can obtain the application form from the International Office.
  • Approval of the application by the National Agency (OeAD) is subject to budgetary eligibility.

The application for inclusion support must be submitted as part of the application for a stay abroad! Unfortunately, applications submitted after the start of a mobility program can no longer be considered.

Required documents

The following documents must be available at the university and sent to the national agency (OeAD) as a copy or scan with the application:

Documents accompanying the application form:

  • Proof of disability: The participant must provide officially recognized proof of disability (e.g. copy of disability pass, notification of a lower degree of disability).
  • If no disability pass is available: Original medical certificate, not older than three months, explaining the extent of the disability/illness and its impact on academic mobility.
  • Statement of costs: The application must contain a precise statement of the increased costs, with the additional costs stated being substantiated as far as possible (cost estimates, research, etc.).
  • A list of the financial support provided by other bodies (if applicable).
  • In the case of student mobility, the application must show that the sum of the requested costs is higher than the sum of the monthly top-ups for students with fewer opportunities for the entire duration of their stay.

Detailed information for students and staff

The inclusion support is intended to cover additional financial costs incurred by participants with disabilities or chronic illnesses in the course of mobility or during the stay abroad and which cannot be covered by the top-up (for students only).

Important for students and recent graduates: Inclusion support and top-up can be obtained at the same time!

Erasmus+ inclusion support covers additional costs (compared to the living and working situation in the sending country) that are actually incurred in connection with a specific personal situation during the Erasmus+ stay and which cannot be covered by the top-up (for students only). There must be an official invoice for these real costs.

Additional costs can only be applied for before the Erasmus+ stay.

Which costs can be applied for inclusion support?

Some examples (selection):

  • Travel costs for necessary medical check-ups in the home country etc.
  • Travel and accommodation costs for personal assistance or accompanying person
  • Costs for sign language interpreters and co-tutors
  • Shipping costs, transportation costs, etc.
  • Adapted accommodation and increased accommodation costs for students
  • Preparatory visits

When preparing your Erasmus+ application, please let us know your situation and provide us with a realistic estimate of the additional costs that are likely to be incurred during your Erasmus+ mobility or in the host country. Information is available from the International Office.

Inclusion support is based on real costs. The Erasmus+ project only funds costs that are actually incurred!
