Flocks work I don’t exist yet adresses the issue of stand-ins of computer-animated characters (CGI). They were created for cinema’s ‘bag of tricks’, in order to create visual effects. Initially invisible for the viewer, the computer-animated characters only come alive through mathematically simulated textures.
As a central motif, Susanna Flock sheds a light behind the phantom costume of CGI, i.e. behind that façade that produces almost infinite possibilities of visualisation of thoughts and fictions, and which exists away from the constraints of physical laws....

Sporobole
is an artist-run centre based in Sherbrooke (Québec/Canada) whose mandate is to encourage the research, production and dissemination of contemporary artistic practices in the digital era.
The organization supports the plurality of contemporary, new, and critical practices that use, question, rebuild, or revisit the very idea of digital world and its tools. Sporobole focuses on long-term projects that integrate the continuum of artistic creation (research, production and presentation) and that are developed in collaboration with the centre’s team and interdisciplinary partners. This support can take the form of research and production residencies, training, co-productions, projects for presentation in galleries, in public spaces or in unusual places, or projects that bring all these aspects together. Also, Sporobole has many production facilities and expertise in large format photographic printing, 3D printing and digitization, as well as the development and production of immersive or spatialized sound works, virtual or augmented reality works, video works and interactive and generative works.
