PhD-Kolloquium

9. Mai 2023

Dance Research – A Praxeological Meeting and Presentations
Hosts: Arno Plass, Damián Cortés, Alberti Constantin Georgescu

Date: May 9, 2023
Location: Audimax

A call was issued for the design of the PhD Colloquium of the University of Arts Linz University on 9 and 10 May 2023; groups of PhD candidates were invited to design and submit one-day programmes. The following programme is among the selected:

The three PhD projects are united by body practices as the common ground of cultural expression and interaction. Arno Plass is interested in the interwoveness of bodies in action, seen through the lenses of Queer Tango as a plural practice. Damián Cortés Alberti is exploring temporalities of embodied knowledge and their specific mediations and overarching relations. Constantin Georgescu uses techniques of description and speculation, proposing a space of processing and articulation filtered by the topic of surfaces. Since all three projects are in advanced stages, the common proposition is to present formats that are mixing workshops, lectures, and performances, while also giving room for exchange and feedback.
