Programme Structure & Study Focuses

As a rule, the Master Programme Industrial Design offered by Kunstuniversität Linz is comprised of four semesters, equalling a total of 120 ECTS credits.
The Master Programme Industrial Design is geared towards deepening the specialised knowledge acquired and evolving and differentiating it through freely chosen focuses. Together, five areas of knowledge form the synergetic platform of an integrated conceptual and design curriculum:
scionic® – computer-aided industrial design – materials science and environmental technologies – ergonomics - design- and innovationsmanagement
The entire range of courses for the master programme Industrial Design is structured into five study areas equalling 40 credits each. Every study area is in its turn divided into one conceptual and design curriculum in the field chosen extending over three semesters and a module composed of several courses and accompanying the individual projects.
The module scionic® must be completed in any case; in addition, another focal study area must be chosen out of the remaining four:

1. scionic®
2. CAID
3. Materials science and process technologies
4. Ergonomics
5. design- and innovationsmanagement
