Admission

Graduates of the textile·art·design bachelor programme do not need to undergo an admission examination.
 However, an admission examination is required for graduates of another, equivalent bachelor or similar programme of 6 semesters’ duration at a university, academy or college.


Admission examination for the academic year 2025/26

The entire admission procedure takes place online.

Registration for the admission test: from March 19 to June 12, 2025
Dates of the admission test: July 2 and 3, 2024, time: from 9.30 a.m. (CEST)
To take part in the admission procedure , you must register online here. 
The next degree course starts in October 2025.

The admission examination comprises the following partial examinations

• Submission of a portfolio
• Submission of a letter of motivation

• Admission interview


Stage 1

Examination of the documents submitted online (portfolio and letter of motivation) by the admissions committee with determination of artistic suitability. The evaluation of the submission by the committee will be communicated in the week before online admission using the digital submission system calls.ufg.at.

Stage 2

Admission to the interview - The invitation to the online interview via Cisco Webex Meetings will be sent to the email address provided in the week before admission.

Examination Venue

The entrance examination takes place online.
Please make sure you have good internet connection and use a computer with a camera.

You will be informed of the specific course of the online test by e-mail in the week prior to admission.

Information on the portfolio

The portfolio should contain sufficient free work samples that can be read in connection with current art and cultural discourses.

Work samples (e.g.): Idea sketches, collages, photographs, color or material compositions, textile designs, pattern designs, material experiments, documentation of work processes, videos, audio files, performatives, etc.

An engagement with current art and cultural events and an interest in textile cultural heritage and sustainable design developments are highly desirable.

Interested parties can make an appointment for a portfolio discussion at any time or contact the management by e-mail if they have any questions.
