What do a Yellow Cab, a crazy exterminator, sour oranges, Albert Einstein and a pizzeria in Palermo have in common? They are all protagonists in our trashy science-faction film "MAYBE PALERMO or what E100304 is all about". Enter our Yellow Cab and go on a wild tour through state of the art scientific research, a mix of narrative short film and knowledge transfer, wrapped into a weird little road movie. All that for a good cause: a new patent in cancer treatment, developed by Austrian students of chemistry.
In "MAYBE PALERMO", a team of scientists and artists work together to create novel approaches in conveying scientific research. Not only the resulting video, also the process of creating it meant bridging the differences between the worlds of science and art and learning from each other. "MAYBE PALERMO" is a novel form of patent video and the result of a cooperation between the University of Arts Linz, Johannes Kepler University Linz and Knowledge Transfer Center West.
