Kunstuniversität Linz – Institut für bildende Kunst und Kulturwissenschaften, Ausschreibung einer Universitätsprofessur für „Malerei und Grafik“ nach § 98 UG 2002

An der Universität für künstlerische und industrielle Gestaltung Linz gelangt mit Beginn Oktober 2024 die Stelle einer*eines Universitätsprofessor*in für „Malerei und Grafik“ nach
§ 98 UG 2002 in vollem Beschäftigungsausmaß zur Besetzung. Die Bezahlung erfolgt nach § 49 Abs 1 KV und beträgt EUR 5.826,50 brutto pro Monat (14 x pro Jahr), wobei eine eventuelle Überzahlung Gegenstand der Berufungsverhandlungen sein kann. Die Vertragsdauer beträgt vorerst 5 Jahre. Eine Entfristung ist möglich.

Die Kunstuniversität Linz sucht für das Institut für Bildende Kunst und Kulturwissenschaften für den Bereich Malerei und Grafik eine anerkannte Künstler*innenpersönlichkeit mit hervorragender Qualifikation im Bereich der Malerei und einem national sowie international beachteten Werk.
Sie soll künstlerische Lehre im Fach Malerei und Grafik anbieten und in diesem Zusammenhang sowohl technische und praktische Kompetenzen als auch Kenntnisse im Bereich aktueller Diskurse der Malerei vermitteln.
Die Ausschreibung richtet sich an Künstler*innen, die fachliche Kompetenz und didaktisches Engagement, sehr gute Kenntnis der aktuellen Positionen im Feld der Malerei sowie nationale und internationale Kontakte im Kunst- und Kulturbetrieb vorweisen können.

Erforderliche Qualifikationen

 

  • abgeschlossenes künstlerisches Universitäts-, Hochschul- oder Akademiestudium oder eine gleichwertige Qualifikation
  • hervorragende künstlerische Qualifikation im Bereich der Malerei und Grafik
  • international beachtete künstlerische Tätigkeit
  • Kontakte im internationalen Kunstbetrieb
  • Führungskompetenz zur Leitung und Organisation der Lehre eines Fachbereiches mit mehreren Mitarbeiter*innen und Werkstätten
  • technische und praktische Kompetenzen im Bereich der Malerei
  • Eignung zur künstlerischen Unterstützung und Förderung der Studierenden
  • Nachweis von entsprechender Lehrerfahrung im tertiären Bildungsbereich
  • gute Kenntnisse der deutschen und englischen Sprache und die Fähigkeit, den Unterricht flexibel in beiden Sprachen zu gestalten
  • Gender- und Diversitätskompetenz

Erwartet wird

 

  • didaktische Eignung
  • Kenntnis internationaler Diskurse im Feld der Malerei und Grafik
  • Förderung des künstlerischen/akademischen Nachwuchses (im Feld der Malerei und Grafik)
  • Teamfähigkeit und hohe soziale Kompetenz
  • erwartet wird, den Erfordernissen von Lehre und Entwicklung und Erschließung der Künste (EEK) entsprechende Anwesenheit vor Ort
  • enge inhaltliche und organisatorische Zusammenarbeit mit Professor*innen und Mitarbeiter*innen der Fachbereiche und Werkstätten des Instituts für Bildende Kunst und Kulturwissenschaften
  • Mitwirkung in universitären Gremien
  • Mitarbeit an universitätsinternen und öffentlichen Aktivitäten bzw. interdisziplinären Projekten und Kooperationen

Professor of “Painting and Graphic Art” according to Section 98 of the Austrian Universities Act (UG) 2002

University of Arts Linz – Institute of Fine Arts and Cultural Studies, Vacancy for a Professor of “Painting and Graphic Art” according to Section 98 of the Austrian Universities Act (UG) 2002 University of Arts Linz invites applications for a full-time position as University Professor of “Painting and Graphic Art” starting in October 2024 according to Section 98 of the Austrian Universities Act (UG 2002). The monthly salary of €5,826.50 before tax and deductions (14 times a year) is based on Section 49 (1) of the collective bargaining agreement. The possibility of a higher salary can be part of the appointment negotiations. The contract term is initially limited to 5 years. Permanent employment is possible. University of Arts Linz is looking for a renowned artist with outstanding qualifications in the field of painting and a nationally as well as internationally recognised body of work for the Institute of Fine Arts and Cultural Studies in the area of painting and graphic art.
The artist must be able to offer artistic training in the subject of painting and graphic art and provide students with both technical and practical skills as well as a knowledge of current issues in the field of painting.
The vacancy is addressed to artists who can show artistic expertise and teaching commitment, a very good knowledge of current issues in the field of painting, as well as national and international connections to the art and culture industry. Essential Qualifications
  • Art degree from a university, university of applied sciences, or an academy, or an equivalent qualification,
  • Outstanding artistic qualifications in the field of painting and graphic art
  • Internationally recognised artistic work
  • Connections to the international art world
  • Leadership skills for managing and organising the teaching activity of a department with multiple staff members and workshops
  • Technical and practical skills in the field of painting
  • Ability to support and promote students in the arts
  • Proof of relevant teaching experience at the tertiary level
  • Good knowledge of German and English and the ability to teach flexibly in both languages
  • Gender and diversity competence

Desired Qualifications
