Rainer Noebauer-Kammerer *1979, lives and works in Linz-Puchenau, Upper Austria. After training as a sculptor, Noebauer-Kammerer studied Fine Arts and Cultural Studies at the Linz University of Art. Recurring themes in his artistic production are site-specific works and works in public spaces. The materials he uses in his artistic projects are partly sourced from urban resources. His interdisciplinary practices include dissolving categorisations, placing disciplines such as natural and cultural sciences in relation to found situations, sceptically reflecting on art in public space and dealing with monument culture and expanding it through new approaches. Rainer Noebauer-Kammerer subtly develops an aesthetic of resistance – without labelling it as such. International exhibition and residency experience.
