Saunatalk #1: Building culture? Talk about it!

On April 7, 2024, the Plateau Blo, a floating research station, will be available as a discussion platform for topics relating to Baukultur.

The discussions held in the mobile sauna will be led by Michael Rieper, architect and professor of Baukultur at the University of Arts in Linz, and Lena Schartmüller, spatial planner at the University of Technology in Vienna and expert in collaborative spaces.

The core issues are the design of space, dealing with existing structures and the challenges of vacancy.

Program
14.00 Introduction, welcome, introduction of guests
14.30 to 16.00 SaunaTalk, sauna and discussion
16.00 to 18.00 Open Sauna Sessions

Sauna rules
The sauna is used in swimwear and always in small groups (max. 8 people) one after the other, so that everyone can work up a sweat depending on the number of people. You then cool off in the lake. Before using the sauna, you must sign the PLATEAU BLO sauna rules, which must be followed when entering the sauna. The water rescue service attends the sauna event as a supervisory body.
Bring with you: Swimwear & slippers, bathrobe and a sauna towel

In case of bad weather, the event will take place in the Toskanapark Gmunden in the “Plateau Blo Marina” on Ludwig Wittgenstein Allee.

Showers and toilets
A camping shower is available and the public toilets on site are open.

Registration for the event is not compulsory. Simply dropping by with or without sauna equipment is just as welcome.
