"why are we so rude?"
We produce, consume, and dispose at an ever-increasing rate. Inspired by a possible post-plastic world, the collection “Why are we so rude?” explores alternative approaches to dealing with precious resources. In a future where we engage in a symbiotic relationship with our environment, vibrant garments tell the story of a different society.   
Discarded clothing, fabric scraps, and seemingly useless remnants are the valuable raw materials of a new world. In various stages of "dissolution," they are cut, unraveled, or shredded. Adhesive techniques using natural binders such as alginate and methylcellulose then enable their transformation into new textile surfaces.   
An exciting aesthetic emerges, a colorful mix of rich textures, proportions, and material combinations. Unexpected contrasts and bright colors create captivating pattern worlds. Garments with unusual silhouettes are crafted in a three-dimensional technique in one piece. They evoke delicate cocoons left behind by a caterpillar as it emerges. Residues of alginate sparkle in the sunlight, holding together the semi-transparent, fragile surfaces of unraveled knitwear.   
All resources used circulate within a closed-loop system developed for the collection, based on cellulose fibers. This enables the production of textiles without wasting the resources used. I invite you to step into a colorful, post-fossil future of sharing and togetherness.
