One's Death, Another one’s Bread reflects the practical experience of working with living organisms and technology within an artistic practice. In this talk, we explore who interacts with whom and how we perceive these interactions. Is our perspective inherently human-centred? How do you collaborate with something other than a human? And when does the "other" change from a living being to mere material or vice versa?
Let's talk about the challenges involved when working the other-than-human.
Noor Stenfert Kroese is a new media artist, scenographer and artistic researcher.
From a critical post-humanistic perspective, her works revolve around encounters between humans and other-than-humans in spatial performative installations.
Noor lives and works in Linz [AT], where she is a PhD candidate at the Creative Robotics lab of the University of Art and Design.
Her current research focuses on data storytelling of living organisms, fungi-inspired biocomputing and other-than-human interactions with industrial robots.
