This lecture investigates how we can define sustainability in fashion. We focus on creating a basic framework to approach sustainable fashion around circular and cradle to cradle principles. The lecture emphasizes the life cycle of garments, encouraging designs that are durable, repairable, and recyclable. Additionally, it highlights the importance of circular fashion, where products are designed to be part of a continuous cycle, reducing the need for new raw materials. Sustainable fashion is presented as both a creative challenge and a necessary shift toward a more responsible future in design. 

Dinie Van den Heuvel is a renowned sustainable fashion expert, educator, and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in the fashion industry. She is a specialist in sustainable design and has been teaching at multiple European and Indian fashion academies since 2005, including HEAD Geneva since 2011, IFM since 2013 and Anant University since 2023. Dinie is also the co-founder of Infantium Victoria, a luxury brand specializing in vegan and organic children's clothing. Her work is rooted in eco-responsibility, and she has published numerous works promoting sustainability in fashion.
